Our flat rate labor pricing is divided into categories based on the overall complexity of the repair and the technical knowledge needed to complete the repair. It always includes a Diagnostic Charge and a Labor Charge.
The first step in our appliance repair labor process is called the Diagnostic Charge, which consists of a travel fee and a diagnosis fee. We understand the value you place on an accurate diagnosis of your appliance's problem. In fact, we have determined that it is the single most important step in the repair process. We don't bill for the trip to your house, we bill for the diagnosis. We NEVER bill you for a trip to your house if a diagnosis isn't given, but we ALWAYS collect our Diagnostic Charge when the diagnosis is given. If you decide not to repair, or it is not repairable, then that is all that is owed. If you do repair the appliance, then the full amount of the Diagnostic Charge is applied against the total bill. For more perspective on the importance of a diagnostic-based service company versus a trip-based service company, click here to read our blog post on this subject.
The second step in our appliance repair labor process is called the Labor Charge. This is the actual labor charge to install your part or complete your repair without a part. Any completed service call flat rate price always includes a Diagnostic Charge and a Labor Charge. The important thing to note here is that the price doesn't change whether we have the part in stock and can complete it on the first trip or if we have to order the part and it takes us two trips. The price remains the same. You add in the parts, shipping (if applicable), and tax (in North Carolina they charge tax on parts, labor, and shipping) and then you have your completed call cost.
The table below shows our Flat Rate Labor Pricing. We have included some additional information on each category to help you out. You can also click the link below it to see which category common repairs NORMALLY fall into. All the prices below include NC sales tax.
